I've installed/removed mine twice without issue (removing I moved it side to side while pulling it out). Like you I started with 2 washers, then went to 3 which I thought was better. With 3 the clutch started to engage within an inch or 2 from it's fully depressed position & later I noticed the revs increased ever so slightly (roughly 100rpm) with the clutch pedal depressed. Just to check I pulled out the clutch stop and found the same rev increase with the pedal to the floor (no stop at all), re-installed with 3 washers, quick smooth shifts are a lot easier.
I wish they did an Ultimate Clutch Pedal for RHD, would be a lot happier if I could get the rest position of the clutch pedal to sit a little lower (equal with the brake pedal)
