But, just for the record, I think the front and rear track widths are interesting:
F87 M2
F: 62.2
R: 63.0
F80/80 M3/4
F: 62.1
R: 63.1
The M2 and M3/4 front and rear track widths are just 0.1" different.
And the M2 has a 4.7" shorter wheel base. Will be interesting to compare handling.

The numbers are all I have to use for comparison when I don't have all 3 cars sitting in front of me!!
Plus my FAVORITE thing about M cars is the wide tracks.......and being that everyone is referencing the fact that the e46 M3 was the last "true" M car because of its size......well I think it bears mentioning that the M2 dimensions are almost identical to the e46M, only with even more "bulldog".
To me that's a game changer and may have single-handidly swayed me from an M3/M4 to waiting for an M2 in the spring.
