For clarification, I'm not the OP and didn't remove the shift boot or any trim to see what was wrong. I'm just glad to be reunited after 2 weeks+ of separation.

So they basically ignored their initial bullshit excuse why it wasn't covered and possibly embellished the reason it was warrantied to make it sound like BMWNA made an exception. Regardless of why the weld broke, it should be warrantied unless they can prove it was abuse that broke it.
