i disagree a little bit on your statement. I believe BMW put the s55 in the cs model on purpose not only for emissions. They also probably wanted to put in the s55 because of all the people complaining the m2 doesnt come with a M engine.

They could've easily put in a b58 without any trouble. The F22 already comes with a b58 in manual and auto configs already in the m240i.
