I kinda noticed this problem today. I was in cloudy weather at 8am and i was wondering why the guages were so dim. Kinda wish there was some lighting on all the time.
What I'm more surprised is that it's 2016 with LED lighting instruments. They could of easily made of dynamically changing LED color configuration so that you can change the guages to how ever you want...
