I hear what you're saying - but consider the average cost of an M4. You are going to have to order one bare bones to be below $70K.
Like we have all commented on before, the prices you see on lots are usually low to mid 80s.
The M2C will still be a good value proposition. Especially with the "new" to the M2 goodies attached...
