Once you drive it off the lot it's going to lose money so I assume when you say "maintain it's value" you mean won't have steep depreciation. The degree of depreciation is debatable but they will probably build enough that anyone wants and can afford it will be able to buy one. Like most cars I assume this will be a poor investment if you are simply looking at the economics of buying a new car.
