It looks like the only way to make CSL happen is for BMW to skip M2 CS and jump right into CSL in 2019. But why would they do that? They would have a much less engineering and validiating process with CS and have a bigger production volume with it without having problem selling each single one they make. Why CSL then?
CSL can and will happen with G generation, no one from BMW M has the motivation to realize it with outgoing F.

I think MR was able to confirm in his interview with the M boss that there could be one more model for the F87 M2, but it won't be a CSL. Could be a CS though.  |
