BMW seems to be getting more money for the car in markets outside of the US. Why would any excess capacity go there if they can find a way to make more than the original number? |
Just because these cars cost more in outside markets doesn't mean that BMW pockets more money from each sale.
Supply and demand dictate how much they will make, how much it costs to import, tariffs/tax, etc.
Take Singapore, for example. The entire (insane) markup is not on the side of BMW, but the government. |
In Australia the car is $95k usd before taxes and tariffs.
