I believe so. They don't have traditional backing plates so they clunk when you transition from forward to reverse or vice versa and they squeal quite a bit when cold.
I don't believe there is a pad good enough to double as a street pad as well as a capable track pad. We killed a brand new set of stock pads in one day, but after a whole track day the RS29's still look good!
