I think it's worth trying the 5mm. Seems crazy that >ET23 would be required to clear the MPS.

wanofakind01 is running V3's with 255/35 RE-71R with no issues and the math says a 5mm spacer would be enough for a 265/30 to clear if the V3's and MPS are the same size.

If it clears statically with a couple mm to spare, it should be good dynamically. Sidewall deflection isn't a concern on the topside of the tire where it would rub the strut.
Yep, running 5mm spacer with the 255/35/19 RE71s on KWs, which puts me at around ET23. I can't imagine needing to go beyond that. The 255 RE71s are beefy tires, they likely closer to a 265 Michelin.
