Not saying it’s imagined, but even for ZCP F80s they did rev the part numbers.
I own a 6MT 2017 M2 with stock suspension and I was able to test drive a 2019 6MT M2C a few weeks ago. I could immediately feel the difference in the handling of the M2C. Feels more planted (even though I have Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 on my own car) and the turn-in is very direct and sharp; the front end feels virtually non-existent. Felt amazing honestly. I'm waiting for the CS or for the M2C to be available with dynamic suspension and carbon roof to make the switch. Fantastic improvement, not only on the engine aspect
You could be feeling new tires VS not new tires differences.

New tires grip better. A test drive is no where near enough for a comparison.

You need day in , day out on a variety of roads.

Tests drives always skew the brain because it's new and all the components, including tires are all brand new.
