There's only one way to find if the diff has a problem and that's to drive it
Ignore what Genius/your SA/BMW says if it's going be a good or bad diff, it's not worth getting stressed about. Just drive it and if there's a problem tell your dealer to order a replacement, that's what the warranty is for.
According to everyone on here (at the time) and at BMW AG the July+ build cars weren't affected, I proved them wrong but am still driving the car and having fun till the replacement diff turns up

a million times over.
