When involved with turbo miatas. Those of us that didn't like the unrelenting drone would add a high flow resonator prior to the muffler. Made the exhaust much more pleasant. I actually prefer a nice quiet ride. It may not be an option to add something upstream of muffler, but could be an option if there is room.
This was with 2.5" SS piping from downtube back. Vclamp flanges were in place. Can have the exhaust place make you a straight piece as well in case you want to quickly remove resonator.
