No major jump in image quality, but better than the original. The AF and FPS are mind blowing however. If you are into action or wildlife photography and can't afford a 1DX, there is nothing better on the market at this price point IMO.
I'm going bird hunting this morning with it, and will have further to say and hopefully some shots to post this evening.
