I see, yeah I'm pretty skeptical about what salesmen have to say since they'll say anything to make a sale. I've checked every BMW website from Canada, USA, Germany etc and no mention on any towing capacities. I think it's more likely that 3500lbs rating might be what the hitch can handle and not what the m2 can tow.
