My car went onto the dealer for it's end of warranty check and had it's software updated - when it went in, it was actually coded for "F087CS" steering, which I have been a big fan of. When driving afterwards the steering felt slightly improved in terms of feel but largely the same - I was a little surprised at this, as I thought a software update would clear all settings.

I then had the laptop plugged into the car today and noticed that the car was actually on "F087" coding for steering! BMW seem to have been unexpectedly generous and updated all the M2's with great steering.

I then went on to do a couple of back to back test drives with the F087 and F087CS coding options. They are very close, but I actually prefer the F087 option - in Sport+ the steering is slightly lighter and as a result has more feel.

If steering feel is your thing though, try the F087 option and turn off the DSC - wow, that is great steering - weighty, but dripping with feel.
