So if it's throwing an error, it certainly is because of mismatched coding.
If it's flashing rapidly, it's a short in the wiring or a defect or corrosion within the actual tail light.

Hyperflash can be caused by a coding error. I've created hyperflash and I've cured it with recoding. There may be other things that can cause hyperflash but coding is certainly one of them.
