Upgraded heat exchanger is not need for 500whp. I seen tuned F8x M3/M4 go all day in 90+ ambient temps. i wouldn't worry about cooling until you start getting to the big boys...which are running 700whp+.
Not needed to MAKE the power, but it doesn't hurt to have specially in Florida so when I am actually tracking the car the heat soak allows me to still have the 500 on tap and not have the DME pulling back on power.
