Yeah, to be clear, I don't think it would be weird either, but this appears to be the reasoning presented as to why the car won't have them. I'm not sure if there's actual insider information that supports it, but the most common argument seems to be that BMW want to keep the M2 a safe distance from the M4. The lack of a CCB option helps create that distance.
