What part exactly are you referring too? Are the days of eliminating all orange lights from cars gone? People want amber or orange lights now? When did this happen?

Yes, ever since 2006, all US bound BMWs have red turn signals, you can have either color here. Which I assume BMW does to save a buck, since it's all one color.
European law require manufacturers to have amber color turn signals, so all their cars have amber turn signals over there.
It's really funny to see an American vehicle in Europe with amber turn signals, which is usually all red.
A lot of people prefer amber turn signals, especially if it's LED, so you're forced to purchase tail lights from Europe if you want that color. It's silly and cosmetic but I prefer amber.
