I have huge respect for Subarus and always will. I was able to attend the WRC in Argentina many years ago. We stood 20 feet from the peak of a big jump and could see three or four turns across a valley. Watching the speeds those things can achieve over terrain that would be treacherous at 30mph let alone 100+ was utterly incredible! Had my eye on picking up a 2005 STi back when they were new. At the time it wasn't feasible so I got the e39 and fell in love with BMW. Still have that itch to own an STi one day so I definitely understand where you are coming from. The newer styling doesn't do it for me so the M2 came at a good time!
