It's actually quite miraculous the rears didn't lock too and the car spin out (I've had that happen on cars with bigger V8's with more engine momentum).
I'm still not convinced he let the clutch out, especially with him saying that it was the rev match feature that caused the rpms to climb rather then him finishing the shift.

OP needs to update with what exactly happened.

Didn't clutch out. Engine took a shit immediately. No wheel spin or lock.
