Not really, you can go larger, you just have to consider the specs very closely. I don't see any reason why 255/285 can't be used. I mean, you might have to tweak it a bit, but that's part of the fun. Just make sure you're checking the specs because there can be quite a big difference between a 285 Summer, 285 All Season, and 285 Streetable Comp tire.
