Such a good thread. Definitely more educated from reading this and other old Bimmerpost tire threads.
My current setup; Michelin PSS 245/265 on BBS FI-R's wheels, 19x9.5 ET22 / 19x10.5 ET35. Ohlins R&T coilovers. NO camber plates. Spirited street driving, no track, not a daily. Tuned. Most driving is done without traction control/MDM - all about the experience and engagement. Not much driving in rain... will use my brain and slow down, if I do.
Considering three options for tires -
- 245/35F x 265/35R; Goodyear F1 Supercar 3 or Supercar 3R (having removed a lot of unsprung weight appreciate this tire's lightness)
- 265/30F x 285/30R; Michelin PS4S
- 255/35F x 275/35R; Yokohama A052
Leaning towards bullet one or three.
Bullet 1 - will slightest increase in tread width but with a stickier compound, make worthwhile difference in grip?
Bullet 3 - would I have a fit issue with A052's?
Anyone having fit both 3/3R and A052's and willing to offer comparison commentary?
