I LOVE the MP4S's. Plenty of performance for on the street, much better ride than the Cups, and they wear well. They are my go-to street tire.

The Cup2's? Were fun on the track, but wore VERY quickly and tended to get greasy at the end of a session. And when they go? They GO-- as in "Why am I suddenly wearing street shoes on an ice skating rink?"

They're also noisy as hell-- you will hear EVERY SINGLE rock you drive over as it hits the fender shrouds and underbody. The sidewalls are very stiff-- which makes them sort of unfun on the street. And rain? You're going to die.

Bottom line: I'll keep getting the MP4S's for the street. I'm looking at other tires for the track (maybe Falken RT660's or or Nankang CR-S's, although I'd have to go down to stock 245/275 to make them fit the car).

I have the APEX 19X9.5 and 19X10.5 and ordered the255/275 Cup2 Connect . The 255/35/19 doesn't have rim protectors which seems odd. The 275/35/19 * spec has rim protectors but is really narrow and about the same width as the 255.

Thinking I should send the 275 back and get the 265 which is listed as wider tread than the the 275 on tire rack spec sheet. Appears there is no logic to the size between the regular cup 2, the * spec, and the other variants.

Do you have any photos of how stretched the 275/35R19 is on the 10.5 Apex? Tire Rack lists it at 8.9" tread width. I thought this was an error and TR tech thought so too. When the tires arrived they in fact are as narrow as the 255 and ~9in tread width. I was expecting closer to 9.8."
