We've been through this on other threads. I doubt it, it would be trivial for them to increase the tolerance to the voltage drop in the software. Fact is, the tails pass the check until they age, and there is no good reason for that to happen. They also wouldn't be replacing tails under an extended warranty for 10 years if they could fix it with a boundary value check adjustment in software.
That said, I expect this will work for quite a while.
