So that sentence is the one that acknowledges there are safety considerations to what you're doing. I mean it's your car so if you're ok with that by all means I'm not going to tell you not to. It's just what the poster above was getting at.
Airbags may be designed to work with a certain gap or whatever else, but if it was safety regs that forced the change then undoing it will have safety impacts.
