It isn't about whether or not you plan on tracking the car.
Assuming budget isn't a factor, M2 gets the nod simply because it looks better, sounds better, and is a more special, more sought after car.
M240i owners will get sore necks checking out M2s that pass by and no amount of internal conversations telling yourself you made the right decision based on winter practicality and adaptive suspension will make the feeling that you compromised and settled go away.
