It all depends on what you want example-wise. If you want a clean, low-miles car, you're going to pay top dollar. You can find an OG M2 in the 30s, but with concessions in condition/mileage.
If you haven't yet, recommend test driving one. IMO, it's solid bang for buck in performance compared to its competitors. I don't regret purchasing my '18 M2 2 months ago.

Vroom offered $43250 on mine with about 45k miles. Don't know where you're going to find many in the 30s.
