I have those same dirt marks by my trunk release!
But seriously, I've always felt this was a pretty big design flaw in modern cars, to not have a physical key hole to open the trunk; or some kind of mechanical pull lever to be able to open the trunk without battery power.
You may have to just drill a hole in the trunk lid, and get a new trunk lid. You can't access the trunk by removing the back seats; they have that hook that locks on to the back seat.
