What happens when you take the car in to BMW for service? Isn't it immediately obvious to technician you have some older software version on there?
Outside of that, what's the chances service will upload latest version of software to fix some other issue and you are back to zero again?
I'm sure this has been answered a 100 times, but haven't run across anywhere on my casual readings.

I believe the general consensus is that you need to tell the service department not to flash or update any software without your permission. |
I have a 2019, I just told them not to update the DME, they didn't.
