The last time someone thought that the ASD module got wet from the outside and destroyed itself found out that it was not the case. He thought that by power washing inside the fender wells that water somehow got onto the ASD through the vent.
It was later determined that when his windows were tinted, the tint shop used and I know they do, copious amounts of water that subsequently traveled down the electrical cabling and entered the ASD slowly killing it. I’ll bet your car is tinted.
Btw, the best way to get rid of the ASD is the bypass harness.
