The dry/open pore CF was the reason I bought the trim kit for my F30...I must be in the minority that see the glossy version as looking like cheap plastic. All you have to do is to feel the dry CF to know it is not cheap plastic, you can feel the weave.
Just don't spill your coffee on it...or rather don't let your wife bring her coffee in the car...and then spill it on the CF, lol.
I got the dry CF steering wheel insert for my F87...just need the car to arrive so I can install it.
