Production locations (Germany):

• the M140i (B58 engine), M240i (B58 engine) and M2 (N55 engine) are manufactured at the BMW Leipzig plant;
• the M3 (S55 engine) and M4 Cabrio (S55 engine) are manufactured at the BMW Regensburg plant;
• the M4 (S55 engine) is manufactured at the BMW München plant;
• the M5 (S63 engine) and M6 (S63 engine) are manufactured at the BMW Dingolfing plant.

If also the M2 CS gets the S55 engine (M3/M4) with production at the BMW Leipzig plant, it will be new for that plant, as it never fitted the S55 engine on existing BMW models. But the Leipzig plant does fit the B58 (M140i and M240i).

My guesstimate: MY2018 M2 CS gets a detuned S55 engine (± 400 hp), some lightweight bits and pieces here and there + the 2er LCI features.
