For me PASM would be a must in a 981s make sure you don't need this option if you decide to pull the trigger.
Also, new Caymans (2017 model) will have a 4cyl turbo so not sure what would that do to the resale value of the 981s.

Let me throw my $.02 in here - I have a 981 CS with the standard suspension. No PASM and no X73. You can't upgrade to PASM after the fact (at least I don't think anyone has yet, due to the cost), but an upgrade to the X73 is about ~3K (parts $1500, labor $1000+).
I really like the stock suspension, but there are times that I do wish it was
just a bit more stiff. I have been considering the X73 retrofit, but am afraid of overshooting and ending up with a car that's too uncomfortable with DD duties - which mine definitely has.
PASM is nice because it gives you choices and is permanently 10 MM lower than stock. The X73 gives you a 20 MM lower than stock stance (it looks great) and supposedly has more "feel" than the PASM. SunCoast Porsche in Florida is the dealer to get it from - best prices around...
My point being that all three choices are great, and even if the car has the stock setup, there are factory options available to you.
