Don't you mean.. you would never trade down from your M6?
See the size of the original E30 M3.... also look up the E24 M6 as well... 
perhaps you might actually gain an understanding of why selecting an M4 over an M2 is not a trade down for anyone.... and how no one would actually truly be " butt hurt " at all for making their selection of a smaller, more nimble, car.. ... just like going with an E30 M3 vs an E24 M6 was never about being a " step down".... |
