To drive on track you do not need different seats, you need a harness. I just installed a Schroth quick-fit in my M3 and it is perfect this way.
The calipers have 2 pins that you need to tap out. Buy a 6mm punch tool, it will make your life a lot easier. Also note that there aren't a lot of good pad options out there, for some reason. Ex:

I put Pagid yellows and although the compound is fine, they are lacking the thin OEM backing plate which makes them fit a bit loose - there is some backlash when going into/out of reverse, and sometimes on track too.
