Reinforcement plates needed?

Hey guys. I have KW V1s installed and I'm maxed out (low) on the fronts. I wanted an extra 1/4 inch drop so I took out the reinforcment plates (exactly 1/4 inch)... Question is how important are these plates on the e90? I see a ton on the subject however it seems to be primarily the e39 and e46 it was an issue on. I really like the stance without the plates but I'm not sure I wanna risk mushrooming my towers. Have to admit I do bottom out more than I'd like up here in Maine. So do I need those plates on my e90?... I know they were put there for a reason but with the factory strut brace (sort of)... anyone else have issues with mushrooming on an e90? Anyone else take these plates out with no issues? Lastly... I'm going to install a strut brace... is that a fair substitute for the under tower plates that were installed? Just getting opinions from e90 specific guys... thanks.
