E93 rubber roof seals

I have a '57 pre lci E93 330.

Has any body had to replace these?
I've noticed a slight leak from my passenger side, I cant see any perished seals or any break/tears but I can see green mould like stuff starting to build up? Would this cause the leak?

Have you cleaned your seals? It can make the world of difference. I used a micro fiber cloth and warm - slightly soapy water to clean all the seals, make sure top open them up gently and get all the cruft out of them. Then I'll let them dry and follow up with a treatment of Gummi Pfledge.

It takes a couple of hours, as there are seemingly miles of seals lol. Take care stacking the roof while you are working in and around it, I always put my keys well away from the car.

Once a year I go over all the seals with krytox, as well as lubing up the mechanical mechanism with Wurth high pressure oil.

Also, you can buy a cheap trombone cleaner to make sure sure all your rain gutters (if you look there are holes and tubes though many seals to take excess water away from the roof). are clean and gunk free.

I'd do all that before trying to replace the seals.

The test for shrinking door seals is to drive the car in the rain. If you get leaks then more than likely the seals have shrunk. They are rubber and all BMW seals shrink over time. I have had to replace the top windshield seal and A pillar seals on every convertible BMW I have owned which is about 7 E30-36-93's.
Some leaking when washing the car say with a water hose right at the top of the window is normal.

Describe what your leak is and how it occurs to help us help you...

What is the cost for a E93 seal replacement? Mine have been perfectly fine so far.

its leaking and dripping on the rear fabic part of the roof next to the rear passenger head rest. Im not sure how long it has been leaking as I rarely get in the back myself. I only noticed it when a took a passenger and they said the rear seat belt above the leak wouldn't pull out.
