Swiss tuning house Dähler creates an M2 Convertible.
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com IMO, the wheels/tyres are way too big, but the 8-piston caliper front brakes are pretty impressive... Article from Autoevolution: http://www.autoevolution.com/news/bm...er-113696.html, pics from bimmertoday: http://www.bimmertoday.de/2016/12/14...arousel-124431 Swiss tuning company Dähler decided to make what BMW doesn't, the M2 Convertible. Isn't that the best news ever? BMW M2 Convertible Exists Thanks to Tuner Dähler. Many people have come to the conclusion that the best BMW M car is the smallest. Not only does it pack a lot of bang per buck, but the M2 is also very enjoyable to hoon about. The only problem, some might argue, is that there's only one version and supply of that is strictly limited. If you consider the M3 and M4 as one segment, then there are three different versions; four if you include the M4 GTS. But the M2 is only available as a coupe, and in only a couple of colors I might add. The upside is that it's instantly recognizable as the "The M2," like Madonna or Gandi. The downside being a lack of that wind in your face sensations. Dähler is by no means a well known tuner, but they've achieved that they set out to and even added in some of their own flair. The roofless M2 is as white as a virgin stormtrooper's helmet, but everything else just screams factory-fresh M car. Starting off with a regular 2 Series, they added all the necessary body bits to make it into the M2. These include much wider fenders, new bumpers, side skirts, the correct mirrors and other assorted goods. Good news can be found under the hood in the form of a powerful 3-liter engine. Dähler offers the vehicle in two tunes. Stage 1 gets you to 408 PS and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm). The second tuning stage will add another 11 PS and raise the torque by 30 Nm. There are other upgrades hiding under the skin. For example, the front end features eight-piston brakes calipers with 400-millimeter rotors. It's reassuring to know that a convertible which hits 300 km/h will also be able to stop. The custom 2 Series masquerading as an M2 also rides on KW coilover suspension with 16 levels of independent customization for the rebound and compression. As for the interior, we see changes brought to the M Performance steering wheel and a shorter shifter characteristic of the automatic M models. A stainless steel pedal set completes this unique car that got a lot of attention during the Essen Motor Show.

Out of all the things that looks dumb on this car, it's the square gas cap lol. Everything thing else looks pretty good.

I don't think they've flared the rear wheel arches though. It looks just like what it is... an M240i with quad exhausts.

Pretty happy bmw didn't make an M2 convertible. Just looks off to me. Proportions done seem right.
Either way props to Dahler for getting this done I'm sure it wasn't simple nor cheap. Clean work for sure! |

+1 3/4 from the rear it looks like it doesn't have a trunk/boot at all. And the square fillercap as already stated? How is that? Do I see flared rearfenders or what? Cheers Robin |

I don't think the car looks bad. I just think the photography was done at some strange angles and distorted some views...

Let's agree to disagree. I always loved convertibles as daily drivers VS hard roofs for the reason you feel more connected to the elements around you and hear the engine better, not to mention enjoying the sunshine ;-). This would be nice IMO for a daily driver without track use, but I'd take it in manual...

It may be the angle, lighting and photography but the fender flares are there. |

I live in Sydney AUS, where it does not get as hot as Texas, but with the AC on full blast and top down it's pretty comfortable in hot days ;-)

I know I am in the minority here but I love this.
Looks so nice and clean, the only thing I would change are the seats and carbon fiber diffuser and tips. Perfect. |
