What I got from this video regarding the GTS: it is the most racecar of the bunch, engaging and a challenge to drive, a real handful in the wet, super stiff racecar chassis, great suspension and chassis, amazing sounding engine with some turbo whoosh at the top end. What is not to like? I also noticed that the real drivers at EVO picked it as their favorite. That is good enough for me.

The most interesting result there is ranking the C63S coupe above the M2. Did not see that coming, sort of confirms my suspicions that it might actually be a great sports car. The V8 sound track is icing on the cake.

I guess not when you compare it to supercars, lol. At least for us, it's still fun as hell to drive! I really like what McLaren has been putting out and my next car will most likely be a P-Car, but for now, I'll just have to enjoy my 12th place car, haha.

It's also more expensive. And I also don't believe that the handling can be as good given the platform |

Another poor showing for the M cars...
After owning an F80 M3 for over two years (my third M3 btw, plus having driven about a dozen different variants of M cars over the years) and modifying it in many ways to improve the driving characteristics I gave up and sold it for a 911. It felt deflating that no matter what the new generation is an average sports car at best and nothing could be done about it. I used to be the biggest BMW M fan boy, but I eventually had enough after I realized the F8x M3 can't be turned into an E9x M3 no matter how much money you throw at it. The M brand used to be the sports car for the masses punching way above it's weight. After driving the latest gen M5 and finding it as far away from a sports car as possible I was hoping the M3 would be a legit sports car, however, it was a truly frustrating experience as well. It's clear that the M2 is a touch better than the M3/4 but still a lacklustre car. The M4 GTS has had a number of abysmal showings in reviews, ridiculous for a car of this cost especially considering initial reviews for any car are on the positive side, and the truth only comes out after all the fancy press releases and trips awarded to journalists end. The M2 is no exception, another average sports car product. I hope M upper management comes across posts like this and realizes that within a few short years car enthusiasts are not going to consider M cars as enthusiast cars anymore. M cars have become similar to AMGs just with the addition of a manual transmission and slightly better all around driving characteristics in almost every category. It's disappointing that money was chased vs continuing to create a solid legacy and targeted branding. M cars are a small portion of sales, it was absurd that management decided to focus on profits rather than continue to focus on driving dynamics and enjoyment. I know this is going to sound harsh, but the executives in charge of the direction of the M brand are a bunch of losers as Trump would say. If I was CEO at BMW I would fire the entire team on the first day and replace management from those at Porsche, and Ferrari instead who still 'get it' to get the ship turned around. Focus should be restored to the true enthusiast fan base and management should reinforce M cars as the ultimate driving machines, the company has almost become AMG in a single generation. |

I get that the 911 is a superb sports car but it's lacks the practicality that some of us need. I also don't get the knocking of AMG. Those gentlemen make an impressive powertrain (admittedly struggling on handling) ... but yet another car in the top 12 at under 80k. The M4 and C63 were two cars I've looked long and hard at with the 911 being a pipe dream that won't come true with my need for functional rear seats Don't get me wrong the drop from 8 to 6 cylinders was a sad day for me but the 2/3/4 are impressive cars |

Two reviewers picked the GTS as their favorite. Seems reasonable to me.
