What M2 (not CSL/GTS) changes do you expect for the 2018 LCI?

Based on the 1-series LCI and 2 series spy pics, headlights & taillights are the only things guaranteed.
However they did listen to the customer and improve the sound system for 2017 so perhaps there is a chance they fix the gauges. |

Guaranteed? 1/3 of the people so far think headlights will stay the same.

Oh yeah and it will get a backup camera as standard in the US because of the 2018 law. Suck it, BMW. No exec pack for me. |

I doubt the headlight shape will change, probably not for the tail lights either. We will see LED in the tail lights, I think that is pretty well established. I also expect some minor interior changes and a change. I bet we won't see a bumper change on the M2 but we will see them on the other 2 series. Then again what do I know. I expect we will see the B58 at some point, not sure it will happen in the 2018MY but that one is just a matter of time.

I DID NOT check the "front bumper" and "rear bumper" boxes, but I believe they will have minor cosmetic changes. The spotted LCI had minor camo on the rear bumper and was said to have minor camo on the front bumper as well.
I DID check the "engine" box because whether they put the S55 or B58 or not, I believe the N55 would receive a minor boost in power regardless, due to the M240i power output gaining towards M2. In addition, M3/4 will see a gain in HP as well. |

Judging by the small amount of info on the net concerning BMW cars. I believe the 2018 M2 will come with the following upgrades or may even be optional.
- BMWs new Laser headlights ( very narrow profile and mean looking ) - More options for external colours rather than the basic 4. - Upholstery colour choice - Some weight reduction components e.g. Carbon fibre tail shaft. - gesture controlled IDrive system. - A 410HP engine with water injection. - M Performance wheels with more bling ? - Small change in dash layout etc vents, gauges and front seats. - Body design changes in its Front, rear and guard panels. Cost estimate: $112000 to $120000 This opinion is subjective of course but its some thing to get the ball rolling. |

You can't add power to M2's N55 w/o more airflow. The only practical way to get more airflow is by using a completely new turbo. They aren't going to do that. The logical choice would be engine upgrade with a sufficiently tested a "top output" B58, as they will have had experience with it and get the emissions/fuel economy. I doubt they have finished testing such an engine, but I'd think they've need to physically differentiate it from the standard B58 - not simple tune only. |
