Stock manual BMW M2 Nordschleife BTG in 7:55

In traffic, track partially damp. Looks like the rumoured potential 7:52 may be realistic.

Nice

The driver was definitely held up on a few occasions. With a bone dry track and no traffic 07:50 ? ...assuming the time is right in the first place.

Just a reminder that BTG is not a full lap. Good time none the less.

07:52 is the M4 lap time. M2 has a 07:58 laptime.

And the M2 variant is rumored to have lapped 8 seconds faster than the M4.

I have no doubts the M2 could lap it at as fast as (or pretty damn close to) the E92 M3 GTS - 7:48

Garage List
The 7:52 by the M4 is a time that was achieved by a journalist in the Sport Auto Supertest. The 7:58 from the M2 is an official BMW lap time. Sport Auto has already posted their time for the M2. And it's not "very close" (I think it was 8:02). So please: Always compare times that were driven by the same "person" or manufacturer. Of course BMW claims a better time (because they know how to set up the car better than some journalist) than Sport Auto.

I don't think that the M2 will be close to the E92 M3 GTS when driven by the same driver and under the same conditions.

The sport auto M2 times was done on a damp track in something like 30 degree f weather wasn't it?

Yep, tires, cage, seats removed. I'm not sure of what other mods that "stock" civic had. Probably tune, suspension, brakes, you know.

The M2 proto with S55 you mean?
See my sig . According to TG Germany talking to BMW M GmbH engineers there was a 7:52 in it(M2) but because of obvious reasons (hence M3/4 canibalism) , 7:58 would do better in the marketing dept.

Cheers

True enough, was meant to be tongue-in-cheek.

Its more or less on par with a production Seat Leon Cupra manual. No moderate power fwd should be getting near it. Whether the Cupra time is to be believed or not is another thing entirely.
