Adding a little M Sport personality to the AW - I find the factory options in this regard too much - I like more restrained. What thoughts?

Is it that stiff on the road settings? Have you tried playing with it? I ask as mine is a daily driver, and the roads are rough here. I track frequently, and I'm looking to avoid going back to an F80 with adjustable suspension. Trying to judge the wife acceptance factor as a daily.

It is stiffer than stock - new springs as well. But I am happy with it and I drive it most days. So far my wife hasn't complained but did comment that its not as comfy as her X5. But put the heated seats on (winter here) and everyone is happy... Could soften the shocks a bit for daily use but I haven't seen the need.

So now that u have had it for a bit, any issues with speed bumps, driveways, tough entries scraping? That's my biggest concern is have to be super conscious of daily driving habits that could drag...?

The only decisions are in the mock up design and then the gloss level of the sticker. |

You can always raise a bit and it will still be lower than stock. Just keep the 5mm nose down stance. Factory stock is set up flat. We measured before and after. The areas where I have to be careful is nose in angle parking where you can hit the curb, and watch out for the rear because the extra width at the back. But that's the same no matter what the suspension. The little black plastic lip in front of the front tyres sometimes gets a little scape but can't see that so I am not worried |

So there is only one compression and rebound setting advised from BMW and this is suppose to be the setting to use for both road and track (with normal tyres)?

Yes - only one on the written installation instructions but I have also read that there were supposed to be alternative settings that have been tested on Euro tracks. I have asked my dealer to source for me but they are a bit slow.

Hi M+M - I came across your post after my m performance coilovers install on my M2. And I will say that my results were not as good as yours!
The rear height is the main issue. It is MUCH higher than stock after the install. I suspect maybe I got an incorrect spring? I'm not sure what to make of it. I have the rear adjuster set to their lowest point. I have been advised to remove the adjuster all together and not run it. However before I do that I'm curious how you were able to get the rears nice and low like in your pics. Are u still using the rear adjuster? Lowest setting? Thank you for any help as I'm totally stumped. |

Thanks for the response! I actually installed them myself. Checked and rechecked. In fact removed and reinstalled. Made sure everything was sitting perfect and it is. The adjusters are at the bottom. The top of the spring is using the factory rubber pad to fit in the upper cup. So I'm positive the install is correct.
When I put the mp springs next to the factory spring, it is definitely shorter, however with the adjusters on the spring, it is the same length. I wonder if the high spring rate causes the rear to be higher. It is DEFINITELY higher than stock. I suspect maybe I got the wrong spring? I was chatting with another forum member than they had the exact same issue and they had to remove the rear adjuster. I'm just afraid I have the wrong spring? Maybe the spec euro vs USA has something to do with it? Do u mind if we PM? I can then maybe email u pics and or text u pics. I will have to post the pics when I get to a computer. Thanks again |
