SportAuto BMW M2 test - Hockenheim short in 1:12.5 min
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com - 1:12.5 min Hockenheim short - weighed at 1572kg (all fluids, no driver) - 0-100 km/h at 4.5s and 0-200 km/h at 16.3s (loaded with 2 persons) - braking from 100 km/h: 33.8m, from 200 km/h: 132.7m So, compared to the values from Auto Zeitung quite a bit faster at Hockenheim, but slower in acceleration (probably due to loading). Braking performance is top, weight not so much. Some reference values of other cars, tested in different issues of SportAuto in (presumably) the similar conditions / conventions: - M235i (Auto, Supertest 4/2015): 1:15.4min Hockenheim, 1542kg, 0-100 in 4.8s, 0-200 in 18.5s, 100-0 braking in 34.7m, 200-0 braking in 142.4m - 1M (Supertest 7/2011): 1:14.1min Hockenheim, 1513kg, 0-100 in 4.7s, 0-200 in 17.2s, 100-0 braking in 35.0m, 200-0 braking in 133.0m - M4 (DKG, tested three times 7/2014 (Supertest) [11/2014, 4/2015]): 1:12.8min [1:13.6 and 1:12.6] Hockenheim, 1615kg [1618, 1614], 0-100 in 4.2s [4.3, 4.3], 0-200 in 13.7s [13.8, 14.1], 100-0 braking in 34.3m [35.5, 35.0], 200-0 braking in 142.7m [136.8, 140.4] - A45 AMG (DCT, 381hp version with semi slicks, Supertest 2/2016): 1:13.5min Hockenheim, 1574kg, 0-100 in 4.2s, 0-200 in 16.4s, 100-0 braking in 32.6m, 200-0 braking in 129.2m - Audi RS3 (DCT, 367hp version, tested 7/2015): 1:14.5min Hockenheim, 1599kg, 0-100 in 4.2s, 0-200 in 16.0s, 100-0 braking in 37.3m, 200-0 braking in 145.3m (brakes tested again 3/2016: 100-0 in 33.6m, 200-0 in 140.9m) - Ford Mustang GT (manual, 421hp V8, tested 9/2015): 1:13.8min Hockenheim, 1729kg, 0-100 in 5.3s, 0-200 in 16.9s, 100-0 braking in 34.9m, 200-0 braking in 134.5m - Cayman GT4 (manual, 385hp, Supertest 5/2015): 1:10.1min Hockenheim, 1379kg, 0-100 in 4.5s, 0-200 in 14.5s, 100-0 braking in 32.9m, 200-0 braking in 129.8m Last edited by outcast; 03-11-2016 at 03:17 AM.. Very impressive lap time for the M2.
At the same time I cannot understand that the A45 is a full second slower with the latest engine update, front diff and semi slicks. Also the RS3 seems to be a straight line rocket but nothing to brag about at the track. |

But take a look at the more than great M235i as well: Almost 3 sec slower...on such a small track. M2 a souped up M235i, whatever. Cheers Robin |

I know, it is just so funny when people discuss every little items weight and then they drive along with other stuff in the car (car care, gym bag, tools etc), passengers and other stuff that adds 10 times the amount they bitched about online...

what a nice result apart from the weight. It is strange according to BMW this car should weight 1595 kg including 75 kg (driver and luggage) and 35 of fuel. So 1485 kg (3.267 lbs), but the weight is 1533 kg (3372 lbs) with no fuel.So it is 48 kg (105 lbs) heavier than declared. BMW wtf...!!how it could be? I was expecting 20-25 kg more not 50...!
Btw great lap time and this means that a CSL will go as fast as a Gt4 when released.. These Tillet seats could save not less than 40 kg btw :

Yup, the M2 will be faster on certain tracks. The M2 is just the more agile car.
I'm waiting for the F80/82 owners to come in here and have a fit. Can't let the M2 have one instance of glory, of course.
