Real - New 730d vs Current 5 Series Review
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com So I have created a real customer type review on the new G11/ G12 7 series from a perspective of a 5 series owner or general customer. Naturally for pilot purposes and for no frills honesty this was shot with no broadcast cams - wondered what you might think and if you agree with my findings. I felt that there are other videos from pros and wanted to offer a light hearted casual review. |

LOVE LOVE LOVE reviews like yours- thank you and great job- although I disagree with the Idrive interface 0 it is dreadful on SO many levels- unless the 7er is different than my 2015 435 Gran Coupe- it has so much room for improvement I cant count the ways.

Just picking a song with Idrive is a 3 step Bullshit process- and NO REDUNDANT VOLUME button down by the roller wheel is a huge misstep IMO. The voice Recognition is terrible (my brother has an F32- bout the same) cant find addresses to save its life. But simply choosing music is just convoluted. The other thing is that the Germans and User Interfaces of software are not the best of Friends- I Sell for a German company and while the hardware is amazing- the software is usually so 1990's. And cant use SAP (German) as an example- that's a multi million $ package that has to be implemented by TEAMS of developers and coders. Consumer front ends like in BMW, MERC and Audi/VW are for the most part- terrible.

Phew... I was checking I didnt come across like an arse, before I posted to my mates and stuff. SO thanks !!!! Love that.
Winter Tyres.. and 20s... I think its the make Bridgestones.. Very Noisey. IDrive.. wow, amazing that some people cant get on with it. Agree with Voice that is hilariously bad. I must apologise if I have ended up in the M2 forum! Um, that is not what I thought I was doing : ) |

I have a 2015 Range Rover Autobigraphy and you can't top the infotainment for being complete crappy junk. My E92 335 has a system that first came out in 2006? 10years and it is miles and miles better than the POS land rover one. Their Meridian signature 3D sound is the best I have ever heard in a car, but the rest of the electronics belong to the early 2000s era. So maybe Idrive is not so bad after all!

And there are two volume dials, why do you need one by the iDrive? Stupid, IMO. |

Yes but the infotainment and nav in a RR and Jaguar is rubbish. So sorry to say and be offensive! But they should know better. They hailed the new XF and Jag interface with such praise and then I watched on guy proceed to get lost on Youtube. Anyway a RR - I would suppliment nav - not important for you. - Audi MMI? Whoa? Really - have you zoomed in on those maps lately and seen how long it takes? Have you seen the voice reviews on that? Audis do look the best and the MMI is pleasing.. but its no way IDrive or Command processor speed. But Audi sell alot of cars - And thank heavens for the new screens and slightly better interface. Car Buyer also rated down the audi mmi a little. Anyway glad it works for you and you know how to work it. Horse etc - Nice comments wow - thanks very very much - BMW have not yet commented on it - I told them I would be doing one. Let you know if they lend me anything else! - Again thanks alot for the comments. No I live in Swindon. ( Sorry about that ) |

Owning an Audi Q5 as well as an X5, I prefer the iDrive system over the MMI. Both aren't terrible. I think BMW and Audi tower above the rest of the industry (with exception of Ford with Sync 3 and Chrysler with uConnect) when it comes to vehicle infotainment systems. If not all manufacturers, they certainly are the best when it comes to luxury.
