You rock! I take that the price increase can be attributed to the new Nav and high demand. Factoring the FX rate down south, our pricing is still within reasonable range... although I will never say NO to incentives to bring it back down |

You are right, when you order a MY16 at a specific price and BMW do not have the capacity or the willingness to honor your order and you end up with a MY17 and a $2K price increase you have at least 2000 good reasons not to be happy... Especially when you know that there is no price increase in Germany.

Did someone notice the change in tire sizes for MY17 (in the PDF documents posted by vugz10)
Front: 19x9.0, 255/35 R19 Rear: 19x10.0, 275/35 R19 I hope that this is not an error in the document... |

Otherwise, the price is close to 4900$CAN when you order with MY16 for parts only.

I actually think $2,000 isn't bad. The car, IMO, is underpriced already relative to the M235i and the demand is huge. Couple that with some new stuff (and a sunroof option which I'm jealous of) and I think it is STILL a bargain.
I understand the $2,000 is disappointing for people who wanted no increase but I think that it doesn't change the value proposition in a meaningful way... especially consider Canadian dollar.

Likely pulled from the M3/4. If this is true (which it may not be because things like this get messed up in releases all of the time), it may be for cost savings... i.e. they get better pricing only ordering wheels/tires of one size for the M2/3/4. No one will notice the difference in performance of the 10mm... tire compound is far more relevant that a 10mm width change and I'm assuming the compound is staying the same. If they changed the tire (to a better compound) and went a little wider THEN you would have more grip
I've stopped upgrading my tire size unless I also change the compound. I found no difference is performance on the street or track with mild upgrades. The downside was reduced steering responsiveness from the wider front. But, again, 10mm isn't enough to notably change the steering feel either. The other pro/con is the wider tire takes on a thicker, meatier, rounder look to the sidewall. Some like that. Some like the more square, shorter sidewall. When I went to 285 on the M4, the one thing I did NOT like was the rounder, meatier sidewall look. Some like it though.

I really hope the M2 does not get the Continentals from the M3/M4...
I was really looking forward to the Michelin PSS.

To downgrade the tires to Conti's is disappointing, if true, as is the switch from the tire size it has been designed with and reviewed with. Wonder what other more minor "upgrades" they will be switching in unannounced to save money. The sunroof option is no benefit to those who don't want one. Though I would be glad to switch allocation spots with you gthal if you really want it |

I'm happy about the sunroof option but 1500 seems steep. Especially with the 2000 added on top. My SA was quite surprised at the amount of increase too.
Still a great car for the money though. |

I agree, I guess that might just be a mistake in the document. But I hope not because I prefer 275 instead of 265, in fact I really would have prefered to see 295/30 or 305/30 instead of 265/35... For the front wheels I don't care, 245 or 255 are both OK with me.

Since the April 16th 2016 debut yes it is higher or the same now. But assuming they set the price sometime in 2015 it is lower now versus the euro on a YTD average.
