Suction cup floating centre cap warning
Cleaning car yest and paranoid about white worm on these pricey things so used a suction cup to try to remove a centre cap.
It was warm about 20 degrees and the roundel separated from the body of the floating mechanism exposing an incomplete circle of white adhesive! Immediately stuck it back down, unsure to tempt fate and lift them all and glue them down or leave as is? Thought I'd put a warning to be careful of suction cup removal with these! |

I use bilberry at 1/3 dilution. I like to think it is safe.
What caused corrosion before was (I think) billt hamber wheel cleaner..it does say not to get it on Chrome tbf So I use it careful being sure not to spray the centre cap directly. I ceramic coated the centre caps and their edges when they were new too. Only wheel products I use other than a quick blast of snow foam ofc! |

Drove four hrs and on arrival the rear centre cap logo foil has fallen off. Almost no trace of adhesive left. What junk honestly. Mildly warm for UK day.
And no this isn't the one I suction cupped off by accident. How to replace? Reckon can peel off a foil from prev caps? Need to glue them down gorilla glue would be quite good I feel. The BMW stuff is honestly like chewing gum. Meant to be RR inspired but it's total trash! |

Had mine well over a year using a host of different cleaners with no issues. Don't use the suction cup. You're ripping off the faces.

Please read above about using the suction cup once only on a different wheel to the one that has had the badge decal fall off.
My BMW parts guy has seen it loads he told me, so not isolated. If anything you've been lucky, perhaps. Who knows. I'm telling you the glue is like chewing gum! I've seen and touched it! I think some 3M tape would be good repair material, nice and thin stuff of course. |

I forgot my own advice and tried this again, ripped off a roundel, stuck it back on (by then back of it was wet).
Driven around today and now it's gone lol Debating buying a normal roundel, ripping off the emblem and seeing if it can't be stuck down onto the rotating mechanism. |
