Hey everyone! I want to share this project I recently completed. I hope you all enjoy it.

This was seriously good.

Trying to figure out how you did the sweeping track shots... sure there's a "chase car" but some of those shots would require some fancy swivel arm bolted on?

Edit: saw in your description you are using RED hardware, serious kit

Agree....really really good! ..Most serious hardware, imo, is the 6MT

@Natek this is awesome. Please allow me to leave some criticism for you.

1. There are times where the exhaust note is spread around the screen. It's hard to pinpoint where it's coming from (obviously from the car) but it's hard to make the connection—it sounds flat (right in front of you). Mixing this with binaural audio will definitely help immerse the person watching this film.

2. I absolutely love adding BMW's sound logo at the end.

3. 09-11 is shaky. I'm not sure if you wanted to represent speed and action here but the transition is not smooth at least for me.

Thank you for the kind words. The chase car was a Performance Filmworks ML63 with a crane mounted to the roof. For the driving stuff I actually used the Arri Alexa and Panavision anamorphic lenses. The stuff with the dad and daughter was all RED Helium with Zeiss Super Speeds.

Unfortunately it's just the nature of the sound design. Sadly these days one needs to mix everything for laptops and mobile. So much get lost once you mix it down. All of the sound was done after the fact. I did various recording sessions of the exhaust using a bunch of different microphones. This car is actually very difficult to mic correctly.

Thank you, I was operating the camera. The driver was drifting legend Samuel Hubinette.

I appreciate the feedback.Regarding sound, see my reply above about the nature of having to mix for the small screen

I agree about the shakiness of that shot, It was a 100mm handheld while the car was moving. Impossible to really get any better than that and while I hated it on the day I ended up loving it once I started to cut. Thanks for checking it out!
